The Westside Improvement Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which exists solely to act for the betterment of the west side of Vanderburgh County. Incorporated March 6, 1978, by the State of Indiana, Shirley James began efforts to improve the Westside of Evansville along with dedicated board members.

The Westside Improvement Association (WIA) continues today with several ongoing improvement projects as well as many smaller projects for everyone to enjoy.
